Originally a small fishing village, Özdere is one of the Aegean coast's best kept secrets. Nestling in a south facing bay amongst vibrant mandarin groves with spectacular mountain and coastal views and clean safe beaches, the friendly atmosphere of this small established seaside town is the perfect setting for family holidays. From Özdere bay you can see the Greek island Samos
Many Turkish people have their summer homes here which gives the village an authentic atmoshere and also offers a more secure investment for those wishing to buy property here. In recent times people from all over the world too have lost theır heart to Özdere and its inhabitants and found their home here.
In the main street are many restaurants and bars offering delicous Turkish fare. There is a post office, a bustling Saturday market, hardware shops, furniture shops, doctors, clinics and modern supermarkets, side by side with a variety of small local shops. A hospital is located on the outskirts of town. The local minibus service offers frequent and cheap transport to neighbouring towns and attractions. A planning ban on highrise development in Özdere safeguards the village atmosphere and several of the adjoining beaches have been designated nature reserves.

Özdere has very safe and sandy beaches with crystal clear water, perfect for young children and familes.
